“To build feminist dwellings, we need to dismantle what has already been assembled; we need to ask what it is we are against, what it is we are for, knowing full well that this we is not a foundation but what we are working toward. By working out what we are for, we are working out that we, that hopeful signifier of a feminist collectivity.”
– Sara Ahmed
To unfold the hidden issues surrounding panties, the first issue of the zine "A Collective Manifesto" stirred an urgency to explore the listed questions and topics further. In the second issue, "Queer Pillow Talk," aims to broaden the conversation about femininity, feminism, and queerness by using our panties as a “talking object.” We're eager to hear your stories and reflections on how your everyday panties evoke unspoken emotions like dysphoria, intimacy, struggles, insecurity, and discomfort, all of which subtly influence our thoughts. Your narratives will be carefully preserved in the panty archive, serving as a wellspring for future creations and inspiration.
For the pieces we select, we'll offer a modest compensation for your contribution along with a copy of "Reading My Panties 02: Queer Pillow Talk." Even if your submission isn't chosen, you'll still receive a copy as a thank-you gift of our gratitude.
