Me, object

“Can I play with my garment?”

The project “me, object” is an interactive game which consists of the processes of exploring personality and identity. With this game I want to trigger the participants to experience a journey of self-discovery. In the game each person will individually question their openness, sense of beauty, joy, emotion, value for fashion, trust and examine their own ego.

“Why cloth?”

The cloth is closest to our body. We put it on ourselves and it becomes like a second layer. It mirrors our personality and identity. The object ‘garment’ has a deep connection to myself. It is not only an object but also something that I can express myself with. But could it be that it is even more than that? Is it possible that we can actually ‘get along’ with our garments? Can we talk to our garments?

Following these confusions, I reviewed my belongings and redesigned one of my shirts to make it become a chessboard using silk-screen printing. The garment is more than an object. It is a medium to visualize our experiences through video, illustration and the help of participants.
